BFFs as in birdy friends forever… I just had a visit from a wee sparrow who sat on my clothesline and chirped incessantly at me - not sure what he wanted but it was nice of him to stop by… le sigh… another oldie but fave… and, truth be told, I was always so very proud of the title I thought up for this one!! B-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-bokeh face.

Three weeks of August down, one week to go and then I have a week off. Well… let me re-phrase that… it will not be necessary to go to the office for a week but I will still be working. Ongoing reno from hell, running out to the money tree to harvest for the contractors, sorting through various and sundry to see what stays up and what goes down. This morning I worked for two and a half hours in the front garden weeding, de-samara-ing, and pruning what needed to be pruned. Stopped for lunch at 2 p.m., did some cooking for when I go to visit mom in the next hour or so and when I finish my visit, I will head out to get some groceries (yeah, I know, it’s Saturday night - no need to point that out). It’s got to get done at some point and tomorrow is just another full day of running around, rinse and repeat. Damn, I have too much time on my hands. Maybe, I should find myself a hobby like marathon internet monitoring, or knitting… or wait, I know… photography. Yeah, that’s the one I want to try the most!!  :)

This suits my mood perfectly today just as it did when I originally posted it way back when. A not so subtle, photographic, floral raspberry to the individual causing me much annoyance right now. He who shall not be named who has broken multiple promises to finish what he started, to remove what he has left behind, to own up to damages caused, conveniently concealed and ignored because, you know, if you don’t acknowledge it, it cannot be real of course. May none of you ever find yourself in contractor hell.

My summers would not be summers without Felicia… felicia amelloides or blue marguerites. They bloom endlessly throughout the season and hey, they are blue and that’s perfectly alright with me. I must admit I can never say the name “Felicia” without thinking of Frisco and some of you will understand that immediately and some of you will never understand at all.

Almost the end of July already. Hard to believe how time flies. Looking forward to a vacation even though, as this pic says, it’s definitely gonna be balconville for me this year (otherwise known in the rest of Canada as the holistay or staycation) - and even then, it won’t be until September. Meanwhile, today, I slave at cleaning my little vacation spot in the sky (okay, technically, it’s only the second floor but a girl has to have lofty dreams you know)… just sayin’.

KURIOS Cabinet of Curiosities ©SharonB (iammacgirl) on Flickr.
I went to see KURIOS on May 31st - a few people had said they did not enjoy it so much as some of the previous shows of the Cirque. I went with a little trepidation and came out with a huge smile. Completely different from anything else I have ever seen by the Cirque du Soleil and by far my most favourite of them all - the costumes, the themes, the music (I need that soundtrack) - think turn of the century - strange new inventions, flying machines, electricity, bathyspheres, quirky characters including one that reminded me of a Dalek (no Tardis in sight though) - always something going on beyond the main performer(s) but not so much as to be distracting… and the dancing… I loved the seemingly continual dancing…and the little gadgets circling the edge of the stage (don’t think I didn’t want to steal one or two or all of them because I certainly did). It was absolutely delightful and amazing… and I would go again in a heartbeat just to see that upside down dinner and to satisfy my kuriosity all over again…
