… a.k.a. asclepias syriaca - this is a much tinier variety than what I often find along the river with those “sugary buds”. Alas, it’s no longer in my garden because it was constantly covered with yellow aphids and anyone in their right mind knows that yellow and pink just don’t go. Absent again, I know but it’s unavoidable and for a reason I would not wish on anyone. I’ll be back eventually. I miss y’all much. xo

Another from the cupboard tonight circa 2011… a pink Queen Anne’s Lace is as rare as a white unicorn but once in a while, when you least expect it, you spot one. You’re supposed to make a wish. Okay, I made that last part up but still, you could if you wanted to. Who’s gonna know? Just don’t tell or your wish won’t come true.

By request. An oldie but a fave of mine for two reasons: (i) the surprise of discovering a tiny piece of the “forest” smack in the middle of the city (if flowering crab can be classified as forest); and (ii) captured from the passenger seat of a moving vehicle.

Home is where the heart is…

I was standing on the river when I wrote this song © SharonB (iammacgirl) on Flickr.
I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape - the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show. ~Andrew Wyeth
